I first met Ethan years ago when his folks became instant family to Ryan and me: our kids were from the same orphanage, Jay taught PLTW like Ryan and Susan had the same cynical, trauma mama attitude as me. Ethan soon became like a big brother to Molly & Blake and when he signed up to travel with us to work in Rwanda, I felt such honor to take a friend's child across the world with me! He found a soft spot in my heart when I learned of his friendships with the "bad" kids, his love for "good trouble" and his passion for justice & mercy & good coffee. ☕
Ethan's death is tragic but we know that even his death, like his life, was full of purpose and that if he had a choice, he wouldn't leave his spot in heaven to come back to us.
Ehan loved stories, words, learning and people. That's why we want to create a quiet place to read, reflect, learn and grow; a library for the kids that Ethan loved in Rwanda.
