Connection Team

The Rwandan Genocide of 1994 began in April, and the country reserves each April as a month of mourning and remembrance. Although most of the children and young adults in our program were not alive during the genocide, they attribute it as the primary cause of their orphan status.

As an organization, we use each April to create teams and spaces that promote activities and workshops which primarily focus on mental health and wellness, arts, music and therapies that support and facilitate emotional well being.

If you are experienced in trauma care, work in mental health, music, art, dance or yoga, there may be a spot for you! This team will spend their days working with students ages preschool thru college, as well as providing support and self-care activities for our teachers and staff.

April team's are geared for the more experienced traveler and those prepared to work with children and adults with complex emotional needs.
