In memory of Reed, his family is bringing a furry friend to provide support, love and connection with our Imana Kids community.

Reed Smith was a longtime Imana Kids sponsor and volunteer. Reed began supporting his sponsor daughter, Amanda, from the beginning of our program and up until she had completed school and entered adulthood. Reed spent time with our students in Rwanda, providing much needed comic breaks during tense moments, hugging kids close whenever he had a moment, and never getting too worked up about the unpredictable hiccups along the way.

Reed's life ended early and suddenly on September 5th, leaving behind his wife, Judee, and his beloved fur babies. A lifelong dog owner, Reed knew firsthand the healing and unconditional love that a furry friend can bring. So in honor of his life, memorial donations will be used to purchase and train a pet for our Imana Kids students and staff in Rwanda.
